Chinese author accused of plagiarism by J.K. Rowling
J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter series, accuses a Chinese publishing house of plagiarism in the forthcoming children’s novel “The Adventurous Prince”. According to the source, the publishing house says it is confident that novel is original and is willing to defend the book. The PR of the publisher also states that they have not received any legal notice from Rowling and her publishing house Bloomsbury.
Chinese media alleged Tuesday that Zhou lifted 18 specific details from the Harry Potter series. However, Zhou, the author of “The Adventurous Prince”", insists that he has never heard of Rowling and he has no idea of the Harry Potter series. If found guilty, Zhou and his publishers could face a fine of around US$138 million, the reports claimed.
